Yesterday I gave you a whole bunch of info on how people don’t keep resolutions but also how to make resolutions that stick! So now it’s time for mine!

I am of course splitting these into personal and family/home management goals.

Personal goals:
• Become physically fit/healthier.
–Complete Couch to 5K program. (3-4 days per week depending on program week).
–Run 5K races in February, April, June, August, October, and December.
–Complete another 30 minute workout (in addition to Couch to 5K) 2 days each week).
–Make healthier food choices by monitoring water intake weeks 1-2, monitoring vegetable intake weeks 3-4, and monitoring fruit intake weeks 5-6. Each week would be a building block process to success!

• Read 26 books that I choose to read.
–I read tons of kids books but I want to read some adult/mommy books this year! One book every two weeks!

• Complete monthly quilt square.
–Pick up my square by the 10th of each month and sew it into its square pattern by the 20th of each month.

Family goals:
• Sew a holiday outfit for each child.
–Valentine’s, St. Patrick’s, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.

• Grow and store at least half of the vegetables we eat this year.
–Wintersow in January, February and March.
–Direct plant in March, April and May.
–Keep a gardening journal writing at least one weekly entry.
–Read about storage methods in the months prior to harvest on each vegetable I grow (various plants harvest at various times).
–Can or freeze at least five lbs of each variety I grow at harvest.

• Raise our first farm animal.
–Decide on what animal to start out our little homestead farm with (I’ve read a lot about pigs and chickens…)
–Prepare pen by collecting supplies (January-March)
–Build pen (March-April)
–Get animal! (May)

• Go on dates with my husband!
–Things I would like to do: go to the dinner theatre, IMAX, laser tag, races, an evening away, and rock climbing!
–Dates to be planned every two months!

• Learn how to use Homeschool Tracker Plus…
–Read the entire manual (January)
–Watch the online videos (January)
–Enter remaining year information. (February)
–Enter past information for ease of record keeping. (June)
–Enter next year’s information. (July)

I want to say one more thing before closing this post. Remember that resolutions and goals are great but don’t let yourself get so caught up in things like that, that you forget to live your life and enjoy it!

So to everyone: Have a wonderful new year!
